01Who we are

This website is operated by Better Funded (ABN 27 708 070 588), an independent grant writing business based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. References to "we", "us" and "our" mean Better Funded; "you" means anyone using this website or requesting a free eligibility brief or general enquiry. Better Funded is an independent consultancy and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency or funding body.

02Using this website

You're welcome to browse this site and use it to learn about our services and get in touch. You agree not to misuse it, including attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of it, scraping or reproducing its content at scale, or using it in a way that could damage, disable or impair its operation for others.

03The free eligibility brief and enquiries

Requesting a free eligibility brief or sending a general enquiry doesn't create any obligation on either side. It's a first, no-cost conversation: you tell us about your project, and we give you an honest, written read on what you may be eligible for and whether working together makes sense.

We reserve the right to decline to prepare a brief or take on an enquiry, including where a project falls outside the sectors or services we work in.

04What we do, and don't, provide

Better Funded writes grant applications. For clients whose grant we wrote, we also offer acquittal support and a grant calendar service. Nothing on this website, in an eligibility brief, or in general correspondence constitutes financial product advice, legal advice, tax advice, or a guarantee that any information is complete or current for your specific circumstances. Where a decision has financial, legal or tax consequences for your organisation, we'd encourage you to seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional alongside our funding-specific input.

05No guarantee of funding outcomes

Funding decisions are made by third-party funders, assessors and program administrators, not by us, and are affected by factors outside our control, including eligibility rules, competing applications, and funding round budgets. Nothing on this website or in any brief, proposal or communication from us is a guarantee, promise or representation that any particular funding outcome will be achieved. Where we give a view on how competitive a project is, that view is our honest professional judgement, not a certainty.

06Intellectual property

The content of this website, including its text, design, layout and the Better Funded name and logo, belongs to Better Funded or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property law. You may view and share it for personal or internal business reference, but you may not reproduce, modify or commercially exploit it without our permission. Ownership of materials produced as part of a paid engagement (such as a finished grant application) is addressed in the relevant services agreement.

07Links to other websites

This site may link to third-party websites, including funders' and program administrators' own sites, for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices; visiting them is at your own discretion.

08Liability

Nothing in these terms attempts to exclude any guarantee, right or remedy available to you under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for anything arising from your use of this website or the free eligibility brief and enquiry process is limited, at our option, to resupplying the relevant service or reasonable costs of doing so. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for funding outcomes not being achieved.

We aim for these terms, and the services agreements we use for paid engagements, to be fair and reasonable, consistent with the unfair contract term protections the Australian Consumer Law extends to small business contracts.

09Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

10Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to our website, services or the law; the date at the top shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version.
